Upgrading the Swag Bag

DMR_week53_2Let’s be honest, everyone loves swag. Whether you’re giving a presentation representing your company or you’re rewarding your employees with some company merchandise, your swag says a lot about your business. Stay away from boring company swag with a few upgrades to create a big marketing punch.

Beach Towels and Scarves

Seasonal items are a great way to guarantee your swag will be used and be seen. If it’s summer time, a company beach towel is a good way for big advertising on the beach with the crowds. Likely, in winter, a warm scarf with the company’s logo is a good way to receive extra exposure as the wearer walks around town.

Trivia Refrigerator Magnets

Most people leave magnets on their refrigerators for years, which is an advertiser’s dream.  Make your swag more interesting than a simple logo, however. For instance, create a kitchen measuring guide with your company logo providing the conversions of cups to quarts and so on.  If you make your magnets useful, they’ll have a higher likelihood of staying front and center in everyone’s line of vision.

Umbrellas

It doesn’t matter if you live in Oregon or New Mexico, at one point or another; you’re going to need an umbrella. Umbrellas are not only functional, but they have a large advertisement space for a company logo and trademark phrase.

Reuseable Water Bottles

Green is in, and reusable water bottles are hot ticket items. A green-friendly piece of swag is not only popular, but it also sends the message the company is environmentally friendly and pragmatic.

Pens

Yes, pens are a common swag item, but this doesn’t mean your company can’t upgrade the concept. Hand out better quality pens, or highlighters, or chose pens with bright or unusual colors. Fun pens are often victim to pen thievery, which is a good for getting the word out there.

Make your swag bag the must-have item for your presentation attendees and employees alike. With a few upgrades, you’ll be the talk of the town as your logo is worn, carried, and used throughout town.
