No More Negative Energy at Work – Stick With Ambient Meeting Rooms

How many people enjoy meeting in a dull, drab space with no windows and generic artwork on the walls? I know I don’t. When I’m sitting at those corporate meetings as the boss man drones on and on about profits and figures, I could almost fall asleep. The stale air, beige wallpaper and half dead potted plants in the corner aren’t exactly inspiring and reviving. If you want to inspire your employees and get them thinking and working, think outside the boring box that is that archaic, dull meeting room. Want to make your board bored? Keep them in that cube for hours on end, wondering when they’ll get to escape.

A meeting room with an ambient atmosphere is a great way to revive employees mentally. I know that when I can see the sunshine outside and feel positive about my surroundings, my productivity and level of alertness shoots right up. It is hard to focus in an environment that features no stimulus at all and is stuffy and boring. On the other hand, when I’m in a new and exciting space such as a designer meeting room, an outdoor meeting or even a business meeting at a restaurant, it is much easier for me to stay on task, get inspired and want to contribute to the dialogue.

Happy employees are stimulated employees. We all know that workplace boredom leads to a lack of productivity. It is not that we do not know how to do our jobs or that we are not able to, we are simply sick of the same old thing day after day. It becomes easy to slack off when we feel uninspired, knowing that we can cram everything that needs to be done into the last hour of the day. However, this is not only boring but anxiety inducing and stressful. It is the exact atmosphere that makes for negative energy in the workplace, something that spreads and brings everyone down.

Happy employees are important, and therefore, happy meetings are important. Meeting spaces must be designed around the needs of the employees and be conducive to the work they are doing. We need to be stimulated by our environment and loaded up on positive energy to make effective contributions in the workplace and be motivated to work together as a team. Increasing the positive energy in meeting spaces by stimulating employees is one of the best things a company can do to improve employee productivity rates.
