Sometimes professionals dislike getting together for meetings because they end up being a waste of productive time, cause a tremendous drain on energy levels of workers and create disappointment among members because nothing gets accomplished. To keep the motivational level high among workers, it is imperative that meetings have a purpose. If run properly meetings have the ability to increase productivity, motivation and creativity and ultimately company revenue. If there is no purpose, postpone the meeting until a later date.
Decide who needs to be at the meeting, what will be discussed and prepare an agenda. Hold the meeting at a time and on a date that is most convenient for workers. Topics of discussion should be listed and if necessary, they can be further clarified by adding two to three subtopics. If you have these feelings it could be you’re the new kid on the block, the new worker, who has not yet got his bearings and full familiarity with the job. You wait for people to introduce themselves to you but it’s not happening fast enough. The easiest way for me to combat the loneliness of working from home is to pick up the phone and call someone else or to go out of the house for a while and socialize with friends. This is usually enough to combat boredom and isolation. I just need to be careful not to make it a habit that actually eats into my productive time. Like eating, everything, including setting aside free time, should be enjoyed in moderation.
Although they love working from home, some people cannot stand the isolation of working at home alone. Productivity decreases because they are constantly looking for distractions to ease the loneliness. Here are a few solutions to ease that lonely feeling. I personally have always loved to have the television or music playing in the background. The less interested I am in the program, the more my productivity increases.
